Alexa's 4th Birthday in Las Vegas!

Dan, Dawson and I got to go down to Las Vegas and celebrate Alexa's 4th birthday with her and her family. We went down on Wednesday and Dan and Dawson helped do more fix up on Danielle's new house. It is just about done and so cute. They were lucky to get the house at a great price and they are lucky to have Dan and Dawson help them with many of their projects. Steve and Danielle have learned a lot about electrical work, painting, cabinetry, finish work, laying wood floors, ripping out tile, laying sod, fixing sprinkler systems, sewing curtains, replacing air conditioning units, repairing leaky roofs, fixing faucets, repairing garage doors, and more painting! Wow they have done so much in two months! But the house is wonderful and it fits them so well. We even have a guest room to stay when we visit.
Danielle had friends from the ward over and their kids had a water party and pinata out back on their new grass. Alexa and Bennett enjoyed all of the fun. Great time!

Girls Camp Rapelling/Kayaking with Little Valley 2nd Ward

Dan was asked to help with our Ward Young Women's Girls' Camp. I tagged along and we helped with the rappelling and kayaking. It was held in one of my favorite places...Kolab!

Father's Day in Logan

I'm not usually around to spend Father's Day with my Dad; but this year it worked out! He's the best!

We had dinner out at Scott and Jessie's home in Smithfield.

Ryan and Cari Utah Reception

Rebecca and Matthew also got married this year.

Ryan Gardner, son of Ray and Cathy Flake, married Cari Conlin in the Oakland Temple. Dawson was able to go out to the wedding and then met dad and the scouts in Yosemite. I was able to attend Ryan and Cari's open house in Provo. Beautiful couple.

Eagle Scout Yosemite Trip

Our ward had like 25 Life Scouts at the beginning of the year. Dan and the Young Men wanted to encourage them to finish up and earn their Eagle awards. So they came up with the idea to offer a trip to Yosemite to all those who earned their Eagle Scout awards this year. We made a slide show and presented the plan to the scouts and parents at the beginning of the year. The boys were excited and Dan worked with the BLM and Park service people to come up with lots of ideas that the boys could use for projects. The boys bought into it and Dan worked along with them and many leaders and parents to do some 20 or so Eagle projects this year.

Dan was a Life Scout and never quite received his Eagle Award as a boy. I believe that helping that many boys earn their awards is worth him receiving an honorary Eagle Award! He has probably helped at least another 30 earn theirs over the years. He also helped Trent Saaralainen in a neighboring ward earn his this year.

Dawson went out to Oakland with Uncle Ray and family to Ryan's wedding in the Oakland temple the weekend before. Ray's family brought Dawson down to Yosemite and stayed a night before the rest of the boys from St. George met up with them on Wednesday. Looks like they had a great time.
