BYU Hawaii tennis fans support Carlton at his meet in Phoenix.

Carlton just proposed and they can't help but smile!

So...I guess the word is pretty much out that Lindsey is engaged! His name is Carlton Taylor and he is from Pleasant Grove, UT. He is attending BYU Hawaii and will graduate in Pre-dentistry the first of June. He is attending on a tennis scholarship and is graduating in 3 years. He is accepted to dental school at UPENN, an Ivy League school in Philadelphia, starting in August. Lindsey will be accompanying him. They have set a date for June 26, Saturday. We invite you all to come to the wedding and reception. They will be married in the St. George Temple with a reception in St. George that night. There will be another reception in Orem on July 10, Saturday. Hope that you can make it to one or the other. We are excited to hear about Mandy’s wedding on June 5 in SLC.

Carlton was the Assistant to the President who picked Lindsey up at the airport when she arrived to start her mission in Vancouver, BC. She had caught his eye when her mission info arrived at the mission home and he saw her picture. He played it cool and she had no idea that he had decided to date her after her mission. They were in different areas but had several times when they were together at zone conf. and a car wash. They both graduated from high school in 2005. Carlton lives up by the Discovery Park we go to when we visit at Nancy’s. He learned to play tennis there.

So, Carlton found Lindsey on Facebook and set up a date in St. George. His grandparents have a condo down here. They went mountain biking with our family the day before Dawson left for the MTC. (Carlton loves to ride bikes so he decided that Lindsey was pretty cool to do that on their first date) She moved up to Provo on Saturday and he was there to help her move in to her new apt. They spent two days together, met his family, had Sunday dinner with them and Grandma, went to the climbing wall, went to a wedding reception, went to SLC to see the Music and Spoken Word, went to church at the Joseph Smith Building, walked around temple square holding hands and fell in love. Carlton left the next morning for BYU Hawaii. After talking for 2 hours every night, they decided they want to get married and Dan got a phone call asking for her hand in marriage.

Carlton flew to Phoenix for a tennis tournament over President’s weekend and flew Lindsey down from BYU. His parents and grandparents flew down as well. Dan, Andrew and I drove down and watched tennis for several days. Carlton and Lindsey took a morning hike up to the top of a (Phoenix size) mountain and he proposed and gave her a gorgeous diamond ring. We all enjoyed the warm Phoenix weather. We returned home and visited with Jon and Lesa and kids who were entertaining Grandma over the President’s day weekend. Grandma got to go to a Luau with her ward.

Steve, Danielle and Alexa are doing great in Portland. Dawson is doing well in the MTC and trying to learn Spanish. He leaves for San Jose on March 3. We are excited to hear about the new temple to be built in Payson. It was also just announced that the Utah mission is splitting again and there is going to be a mission created right here in St. George. Dan said that when he was here there were 6 missionaries that worked the entire Washington Country area and now it will be a whole mission! Well, we look forward to lots of summer fun with you all.

Take care and do good! Love, Dan, Shelly and Family
