Andrew Senior Year Cross Country

While the girls were having a Baby Shower the boys went up to Cedar to watch Andrew run in his first Cross Country meet. Cousin Justin flew in for a visit and Darrell and Jonba were down in town helping Dan work at Duck Creek. They managed to take the boat out on Navajo Lake and we cooked a yummy Dutch oven meal with Carlton and Lindsey.

With Lindsey and Carlton in town we decided to host a baby shower for Lindsey. We had a great turn out of friends and neighbors. She recieved many very useful items in preparation for the baby which is due on October 21st. It was fun to visit and enjoy yummy food and great friends! We'll have another shower up in Pleasant Grove next week with Carlton's friends and family and my Northern Utah family.

This year our reunion was held in Pine Valley. We had two cabins and a group camp site reserved. Ray and Cathy were in charge but because Dan and I and Art and Apryl live here we ended up doing much of the work. It was great to have it close to Grandma so she could come and participate in all of the festivities.
It was great to have Nancy and most of her family there, Apryl, Aaron and Alesha and families there. Also Ray and Cathy, Ryan, Rebecca and kids, Ben and Emy and 9 kids, Jon and boys, Darrell and Eve and Lindsey and Carlton flew in Friday night and were able to enjoy several days of the fun with us. Danielle felt really bad not being able to come and almost jumped in the car with Alexa and drove down.

The reunion started with a temple session in the St. George Temple where Rebecca received her endowment as she prepares to go on her mission. The next morning the kids went to the temple baptistry and performed ordinances under the direction of Art and Apryl and Grandma witnessing. Then the men played ball and we packed up and headed up to Pine Valley. There was great food to be had, many Rook games to be played, and lots of hiking, biking, riding and late nights in between.

Califrnia Work Trip and Yosemite, July 2011

We left Bear Lake and the Datwyler reunion on Sunday morning and headed to I-80 and across the Nevada dessert towards Folsom, California. It was a very long drive! We got to Folsom around 10:00 pm and we found a nice Comfort Inn that offered a free breakfast (important when you are feeding 4 big hungry boys every day!)
The boys went off to work early the next two days and I stayed and hung out at the motel. There wasn't any shopping around so I only left the hotel to walk a block and get a Subway sandwhich each day. So I got on the interent and deleted emails and caught up on all the missionaries that are Dawson's friends. I watched a few movies and went out by the pool for about 45 min. each day. It was very hot! It actually was cooler than usual so it worked out nicely for the boys.

When they got home the first night we went out and ate at Panda Express. The second night we went out to ? The third day, Wednesday. We ate breakfast and then all checked out because Dan figured that they would finish up earlier today. I stayed on the job site and ran errands for them.
After a hot day in the sun we went and took a dip in the Folsom Lake. It was chilly but refreshing. Next we grabbed some grub at Taco Bell and headed toward Yosemite.
More later....

Datwyler Reunion at Bear Lake July 2011

Thursday morning, July 14 we headed out the door for Logan to start our Datwyler Family reunion. We took Rylee, Jill's grand daughter from St. George with us. She was a lot of fun. We got to Logan and dropped off Dan's trailor will all of the work supplies at Ron's shed and hooked up to just the sail boat to head to Bear Lake.
We had reserved a nice cabin for three days. It was nice to upgrade to a cabin after all our many years of camping at Rendevouv Beach and the East Shore. It was great to have a kitchen and beds to sleep in. It was especially nice for the mom's with new babies. We ate very well as usual and enjoyed bike riding, sailing, hiking and swimming at the North Beach. We hiked to Limber Pine with Mom and Dad as our guides and then Scott led us up to Bloomington Lake across the Idaho border.

We had fun on a rope swing and the brave souls even jumped into the water. Then we hiked around to the snow packed glacier and slid down into the ice cold water. It was so beautiful up there. We packed up Sunday morning, headed down to Logan left the boat for the construction trailor, picked up Jonba and Darrell and headed out across the Nevada Desert for Dan's job in Folsom, Cali.

Mom and Dad paid for the cabin and Jessie and Scott were in charge of the successful Datwyler reunion. Next year we will hope to be able to have Dawson, Danielle and Lindsey and families with us!
