April 12, 2009 (Letter to Sis. Lindsey Flake)
Happy Easter! We are enjoying a beautiful, spring Easter day and hope that you have been able to as well. We look forward to talking to you on the phone in less than one month! I was able to go with the sis. Missionaries on Saturday and we made some visits and then I fed them sandwiches for lunch and then we colored Easter Eggs. Sis. Lavaka was companions with Sis. Wong in the MTC. She is from Maui, Hawaii and said that Sis. Wong was struggling with English. Please tell her hello from Sis. Lavaka. The other new sister is from Australia and has a great accent.
I hope that you were able to enjoy some Easter festivities with a family. How about dinner? We were able to have Jacinda, Felicia, Darrell, and Jeremiah with us for dinner today. Grandma had low blood pressure today so she didn’t go out. We did take her a big plate of food though. Yum, yum, ham, potatoes, rolls and strawberry angel food cake.
Dad has been gone all day! He started with a 6:00 am meeting and is out doing visits now. He did sneak an hour dinner hour with us and a short nap. He conducted for his first time and was very nervous. He will be great. I had a 2 ½ hour YWYM meeting this morning at 7:00. I love visiting and learning with such wonderful stake people. We love the new Virtue Value and are using the theme “Look to the Temple” for our Leadership meeting this month.
I went to the Temple on Friday. It was busy. I think many people took the conf. talks on the temple to heart. I was hoping that Grandma would go with me, but she didn’t feel up to it.
It was fun to have Darrell, Jeremiah, Dawson and Andrew look for their Easter baskets. Just like little boys and of course the fan spewed off candy when it was turned on. Jacinda spent the night at her mom’s house. I gave her a cute tye dye shirt in her basket. We did tye die Easter Eggs too. Did you get your package?
Well, we want to hear from you so tell us about your week. If dad forgets, Bishop Brad Thompson is the man and Kelly Taysom is the other councilor.
I have watched Bro. Holland’s conf talk a few times. I love and appreciate the savior and his atonement. Thanks for serving well and sending blessings are way.
Love you tons,
Mommy
