Happy 30th Anniversary!

So Dan and I have been married for 30 years. Wow, how fast the time goes. As usual, we spent our anniversary at our family reunion. This year we spent the day driving from Idaho, where we just finished up the Datwyler reunion back home to St. George.

We will celebrate our anniversary in March in Maui, Hawaii where we have a week reserved with our time share resort. We first went to Hawaii on our 10 year anniversary. Although we've had a few Hawaiian vacations since, we haven't been back for a few years. The beach is calling our name!

Datwyler Family reunion

This year our Datwyler reunion was held near Blackfoot Idaho at the hunting lodge of Rulon and Kathy Jones. Kathy is our cousin and they let us come and stay and showed us a great time. It was a wonderful lodge with 14 bedrooms and a large kitchen and meeting area. We were able to go hiking, horse back riding, 4 wheeling, and enjoyed an evening around the campfire. It was especially fun because we were able to have Danielle, Steve and family and Lindsey and Dillon come and spend the time with us. They haven't been able to attend a reunion for a few years since they have both been living away while their husbands attend dental school. With Dawson back from his mission and Andrew with us...we were so happy to be all together.

We finished up the Flake reunion earlier in the week, spend a night in Logan with my parents and then packed up and headed to Idaho. It was a great week of good food and great times with my siblings and their families.

Flake Family Reunion

Another fun Flake family reunion was planned and carried out by Ben and Emy Flake this year. It was held up Ogden canyon at the Environmental center in Liberty, Utah. We spend sometime at a fun park in nearby Huntsville and spend some time canoeing and swimming at Pine View reservoir. Many late nights of games and silliness were enjoyed. Of course we enjoyed Tennessee tacos and many other good meals together. We drove Grandma up to Ogden in our truck with us. It was great to have her out west with us for three years. She is moving back to Tennessee in a few weeks.

 Danielle and Steve and Alexa were able to spend the reunion with us and Lindsey and Dillon flew in to SLC and were able to spend the last day with us. Dawson drove down to SLC and ran the 24th of July 5K run along the Pioneer  Days parade route. He was going to fun the full marathon, but stayed up too late partying with the cousins so he opted for just the 5K. Lindsey was going to run too, but didn't get enough training in.

On the last day as we were cleaning up we found a rattle snake right by the lodge. Ben took care of it with a shovel and Lindsey held it up for a picture. Next year we may be in Tennessee for the reunion.
