Orem Reception July 10, 2010

My niece, C'Anne came from Vernal and decorated a second cake so we could have it in the garden gazebo.

We gathered wedding dresses from our mothers and grandmothers to display at the reception. My dress is on the far left, above with the five dresses. It was originally my sister, Julie's but I had the sleeves remodeled and wore it on my wedding day on July 28, 1982. The next dress was worn by Floretta Flake, Dan's mother when she married Darrell in the SLC temple. The ceremony was performed by Spencer W. Kimball. She also shared the dress with her sister. My mother, Joan, shared her dress with her sister-in-law, Pauline Christiansen. We showed that dress at the St. George reception.

A second wedding reception was held in Orem, Utah at the home of Carlton's grandparents, Dave and Sally Taylor. The yard is beautifully landscaped and despite a quick afternoon rain shower, the evening was beautiful and filled with family, friends and a festive spirit. It was great to mingle with relatives and friends from Northern Utah and many of the Taylor's ward family came and showed support for the wedded couple.
