Fall General Conference Oct. 3, 2010
We were able to spend a nice weekend up North over General Conference Weekend. Andrew and I drove up to American Fork on Friday morning so I could attend the temple wedding of Meagan Flake and Thomas Stancliff in the Mt. Timpanogus temple. Andrew tended little Daxton and picked apples and fed the horses. We had a fabulous wedding luncheon put on by Kristin and Nancy Flake. Dan had been working in Wyoming all week and met us in Logan Friday night. In the mean time Andrew went kayaking with Darrell and the boys while visited with Athena and Teri in Pleasant Grove.
Then we drove up to Logan and watched the BYU vs. USU football game with my parents. In an amazing effort, USU beat the cougars which hadn't been done since 1993. The whole town was celebrating.
Saturday we watched conference and then went for a ride up Logan canyon. We picked up Frederico's' pizza and salad and then the men were off to Priesthood meeting. I went shopping with my mom and sister, Jill to Kohls and we found some great bargains.
Sunday morning we watched more conference on TV and then drove down to SLC so we could attend the afternoon session live in the Conference Center. We only had two tickets but I asked the usher and he told us to go in door 20 and they'd take care of us. They did! We went up to the second to the last row in the balcony and sat by Martha Flake and her mom, Gracie. They were on the back row reserved for wheelchairs, etc.
Conference was awesome! I am so glad that we have a modern prophet who speaks words of guidance in these latter-days.
We stopped on the way home and had Turkey dinner at Nancy's and then continued home to St. George arriving after 11:00 pm. What a fabulous weekend!
