Waiting for the Baby

We joined in on the Philadelphia 1st ward's service project to clean up a cemetery. It was 350 acres and we were only able to get ab out 2 acres cleaned up. We got to wear the famous Mormon Helping Hands T-shirts. It was a fun day as we waited for the baby to arrive.

We met some beautiful ladies in Lindsey's ward who had come to the US from Liberia, South Africa. They shared their testimonies of paying tithing during the RS lesson.

Lindsey has the nursery all prepared for the baby's arrival!

Apple Farm

We visited the Linvilla orchards on Friday after we arrived to help Lindsey with the baby when he decides to make his grand entrance. This was actually his due date, October 21, 2011.
We enjoyed fresh apple cider and apple cider doughnuts. It was a beautiful fall day.

We toured an old mansion and Lindsey checks the mirror to see if the baby has dropped.

Lindsey Graduates from College!

i

Lindsey finished up her credits online to graduate with a degree in Leadership from Bellevue University. She really enjoyed the online classes that she took as they pertained to the Constitution and our founding fathers. She had previously majored in dance and elementary education. She has workd at the National Constitution Center while living in Philadelphia.

She received her associates from Dixie State College, then studied at Utah Valley University where she was 1st runner up to Miss UVU. She was a Pinnacle dancer for the Utah Flash NBA development team for a year. Then she served a mission in Vancouver, BC, Canada. After her mission she attended BYU. She married Carlton and he was already accepted to UPENN Dental school so she moved with him last Fall. She was just a few credits short but didn't want to pay out of state tuition in Philadelphia, so she finished up online at Bellevue.

I'm so proud of both of my daughters for not only serving missions but then pursuing their education and graduating with their Bachelors. I appreciate my parents for encouraging me to do the same; even though it took me 6 years to finally earn my Marketing Education degree from Utah State University.

October 3, 2011 Visit from Elder Dawson's Bishop

Dawson's Bishop from his branch in Salinas came through St. George on his way back from attending General Conference. Bishop Davidson and his wife stopped by and brought us pictures from their Oakland temple trip last week. I prepared a box of stuff to send back to Dawson and his companion. I made home made break, cookies and some homemade strawberry jam, as requested by Dawson. I gave sister Davidson a hug before she left and told her to pass that along to Elder Flake when she saw him. I miss him but he will be home in 3 short months!!
